Here's an amazing recap of what was achieved in the year 2011.
Building up of my portfolio
I was given travel opportunities to HongKong, Perth, Sdyney, Melbourne, Malaysia and Indonesia for several overseas pre-wedding shoots. It has really been a great experience for me. Also, I was involved in a number of high profile corporate shoots and I am very glad to be able to make many new friends from different industry. =)
Nurturing a new team of Professional Makeup Artist Team (Makeup Artist Singapore On Call)
This team has started their makeup course this year and though they do not have much experience, they have been receiving good feedbacks response from the customers. I am really proud of them!
Wedding Services Singapore (www.weddingservices.com.sg)
From an idea which was sparked from a casual conversation, we organized our very first exhibition event with several well-known industry partners (iLove Wedding @ OCC) and it was very successful! It was a fantastic opportunity to forge ties with other the same industry friends where we work together to provide the best service for our customers. The success of this first event has led to us in organising another encore exhibition event 10 weeks later, The Wedding Affair, at Raffles Town Club, which was another success case!
Personal Acheivements
I was awarded as one of the 100 Most Inspiring Real Women for International Women's Day organised by Cozycot.
As of 13 December 2011, I have done makeup on 402 different faces (include wedding, corporate shoots, dinner and dance, mum makeup, etc).
These has been an incredible feat and I would like to take this chance to thank everyone's support and help. ^^ Without you guys, it wouldn't be possible.
Being in this career for more a decade, I feel that being a makeup artist is a challenging task. As a makeup artist, it is important to communicate with the couples and give them advices that is tailor-made to them.
When most of the people are having their beauty sleep at home, we will wake up early in the morning on weekends (as that is when most weddings are usually on) to make our brides beautiful. On Mondays to Fridays, I would have to be back at the office to meet clients and conduct lessons in the evening. Sometimes, I am also handling corporate and local pre-wedding photoshoots. Indeed, there is no actual rest day for me, as even on public holidays such as Christmas are my working days! Due to my busy commitment in work, I may miss some calls sometimes. To serve you better, I would be more than glad if you can leave an sms or email.
Period of personal growth
Some things may not go as smoothly as planned. I have encountered difficult customers who complained without finding out the truth and there are customers who have not paid their balance despite calling them serveral times and giving them a grace period. The worst was "losing my luggage" during a overseas photoshoot! As I didn't want the customer to be worried, I kept to myself about it and had to purchase all my equipments and accessories which comes at an additional cost! Then it turned out that the luggage was found AFTER I bought all the equipments. :(
Looking back at all the events, I am grateful for the ups and downs as they had given me unforgettable fond memories and made me grow and learn.
Also, a Very Big Thanks for those who chose me to be their makeup artist on their important day and had left tesitmonials for me. They are a great source of encouragement to me. =)
I will continue to put my very best effort in making all my customers beautiful on their big day. To serve clients better, I would only serve one couple for Actual Day. Also, there are no hidden cost in my packages. Hence, I would appreciate it if customers respect my professional skills as I would do my utmost best and ensure that every cent you invest is worth it. =)
Looking forward to be of valuable service to you!
Here's wishing everybody a Merry Christmas and many good wishes for a New Year of Happiness and Propserity!
